A Case of Primary Osteosarcoma of the Liver

Abstract
|
|
|
osarcoma is a malignant tumor of mesenchyme, charaterized as the direct formation of
ostoid or bone by the tumor cells. Extraosseous osteosarcoma is rare form of osteosarcoma
arising extraskeletal tissues, mainly estremities and retroperitoneum, and that arises in liver is
extremely rare. Only 3 cases of primary osteosarcoma of liver have been reported, and no
case is reported in Korea.
We report case of primary osteosarcoma of the liver in a 70-year-old man. The tumor
mass with calcification in right lobe of liver was discovered on ultrasonography and computed
tomography of abdomen. And diagnosis of primary osteosarcoma of liver was made by
histopathologic examination.
